Conference Bursary

The OHLA Conference Assistance Bursary

The OHLA Conference Bursary was created to assist full-time library students, recent graduates and professional library staff with financial expenses that arise from attending the annual OLA Super Conference. The bursary is to assist with the cost of registration fees, travel and accommodation expenses. Each calendar year, 2-3 conference bursaries are available to the OHLA members. The maximum amount of a single bursary is $600 CAN.

This year, the OHLA is offering 3 Conference Bursaries to members for the OLA/OHLA conference attendance in 2019. The funds will be allocated as follows:

  • $500 for 1 Student Bursary
  • $600 for 1 Library Staff Bursary – for applicants residing in distant locations (over 80 km outside the GTA)
  • $400 for 1 Library Staff Bursary – for the rest of the applicants

To be considered for a bursary, applicants must be:

  • current OHLA Members
  • full-time library students (library graduate students and those enrolled in a library technician program) or unemployed in the library sector recent graduates (who have graduated in the past year)
  • library staff who do not receive conference attendance funding from their employers
  • individuals who did not attend the conference last year
